Dr. Bassett began her career as valedictorian of her private middle school, graduated high school, and attended college at the age of 16. She graduated from the University of Toledo, Cum Laude with a degree in Biology. At the age of 19, Dr. Bassett attended the Ohio State University College of Dentistry and became a dentist at the age of 23. She has been in private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona ever since then.

To perform cosmetic dental procedures at the highest level, advanced technical skills, an artistic eye, years of experience and a rigorous post-graduate training in cosmetic dentistry are needed.
In 1994, Dr. Bassett was a student in the first post-graduate, live patient and over-the-shoulder cosmetic dentistry training courses offered from Case Western Reserve University, Baylor College of Dentistry and the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). Since that time, she has performed thousands of both partial and full-mouth reconstructions and smile designs on top models, television anchors, movie stars, professional athletes, business executives, dentists, physicians, and stay-at-home moms. She presently teaches these techniques, lectures and publishes on dental facial aesthetics worldwide to cosmetic dentists and plastic surgeons. Dr. Bassett became a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1996. She became a Fellow in the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics in 2000. She became an accredited member in Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in 2001. In dentistry as in medicine, specialties exist that indicate a higher level of education, knowledge and expertise. Presently, the American Dental Association (ADA) does not recognize a specialty in cosmetic dentistry. In 1984, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) was formed and is the credentialing board in cosmetic dentistry. The accreditation process is a rigorous program, which requires dentists to attend continuing education courses, be tested, and submit a number of cosmetic cases to be judged by a panel of cosmetic dentistry experts. Dr. Bassett was one of three accredited members in Arizona to pass this rigorous case presentation and was awarded accredited status in the AACD in 2001. Now Dr. Bassett is the only dentist in Arizona to obtain Accredited Fellow status. An Accredited Fellow is the highest credential earned in the Academy and denotes the final level of achievement. An Accredited Fellow must meet all of the requirements of an Accredited Member and successfully present 45 out of 50 additional clinical cases that meet the Accreditation standard of excellence set forth by the American Board of Cosmetic Dentistry.Dr. Bassett is the 36th Fellow and the only Accredited Fellow in Arizona, She is a Fellow in the International Academy of Dental-Facial Aesthetics and is past president and a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. She has been elected into active membership in the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodonitcs in 2005. This academy focuses primarily on crown, bridge and implant restorations. Dr. Bassett was awarded Mentor status at the Kois Center in 2009 and became an Associate Member in the American Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry in 2011. She has been selected to serve on the editorial board on Practical Procedures and Aesthetic Dentistry and The Orthodontics Art and Practice of Dentofacial Enhancement. She is the founder of Women Teaching Women Cosmetic Learning Facility. Dr. Bassett is the recipient of the Volunteer Dentist of the Year Award for the State of Arizona where her focus is on homeless women who have been victims of domestic violence .She also has received the Give Back a Smile volunteer service award twice from the AACD. She facilitated Arizona dental students, live-patient, over-the-shoulder and reconstructed numerous homeless patient’s smiles. She has taught the Esthetic Continuum at the Arizona School of Dentistry, where she instructs the senior dental students performing restorative and cosmetic procedures on domestic violence survivor patients. She served on the Board of Trustees, the Board of Directors, and is the first woman dentist President of the AACD (2015-2016). She has authored multiple articles in National Peer Review Journals, and she lectures and teaches hands on courses nationally and internationally in Aesthetics and Complex Restorative Dentistry.
Dr. Bassett has been awarded the Top Clinical Educator Award by the Lucy Hobbs Project in the category of Clinical Excellence, 2016, as well as the Excellence in Cosmetic Dentistry Education EVY Award by the AACD, 2019.
Dr. Bassett's smile design team includes multiple world-renowned ceramists. Her smiles have been featured on the front cover of the premier peer-review cosmetic dental journals, Practical Periodontics & Aesthetic Dental (PPAD), Contemporary Esthetics, AACD Journal, Dentistry Today, Compendium, Inside Dentistry, Dental Economics, Dental Products Report and Dental Product Shopper and has won numerous medals, including a gold at the national smile gallery competition. She has made multiple television appearances, including two seasons on one of the first reality series, "A Personal Story," that aired on the Learning Channel. She performed a complex space management ten-unit veneer reconstruction.
